Our Story

When my family and I made the big move from Georgia to California, I never could have imagined it would become the most important move of my life. On my very first day at Los Gatos High School, fate stepped in—or perhaps ran a little late—when Trent walked into our junior year history class. That moment, as small as it seemed at the time, is one I still remember like it happened yesterday.
After a year and a half of friendship, life took us on different paths. Trent headed off to the University of Colorado, while I began my journey at the University of South Carolina. Though miles apart, we stayed in touch, checking in on each other as life unfolded.
Fast forward to 2024: a very special bachelorette trip took me to the sunny shores of West Palm Beach, Florida—where Trent happened to be living after college. One message from him turned into an invitation for a boat day…and the rest, as they say, is history.
By March of 2025, I was calling Jupiter, Florida home, where Trent and I now share a beautiful life (and lots of love) with our two adorable dogs, Ace and Tate. Together, we cherish beach days, sunset cocktails by the water, spending time with our family and friends, traveling the world, and of course, endless boat days—the place where our forever truly began.
We are beyond grateful to our family and friends for the love, support, and laughter that have shaped our story. We can’t wait to celebrate the start of our next great adventure together… marriage!

Travel & Accommodations
getting there
Savannah/Hilton Head International Airport is the most convenient airport for Palmetto Bluff and is approximately a one-hour drive. Guests may rent a car or arrange a private transfer for the most seamless experience. While ride-share services are available, they are less plentiful than in larger cities, so we recommend planning transportation in advance to ensure a smooth arrival. If choosing to use a ride-share service, note that services are less plentiful in the evenings. The drive itself is a lovely introduction to the Lowcountry, with scenic views along the way.

bluffton
Charming, historic, and full of character, downtown Bluffton is a must-visit. Wander through Old Town’s art galleries and boutiques, including favorites like Finch & Co, enjoy waterfront views at Oyster Factory Park, or linger over lunch at one of the town’s beloved local restaurants, from The Cottage to a Deering family favorite, Captain Woody’s. Maddi also loves The Farm Bluffton, a local gem known for its seasonal Southern fare. Be sure to enjoy a glass of wine at Wine Time, then continue strolling through town, soaking up the perfect blend of relaxed Southern charm and creative spirit. We'd also recommend venturing over to New Riverside to try Leah Bailey's new location.
savannah
For those eager to explore beyond the Bluff, Savannah offers timeless beauty and rich culture at every turn. Stroll beneath the moss-draped oaks of Forsyth Park, spend an afternoon immersed in art and architecture at the Telfair Museums, or wander River Street for scenic views, shopping, and a lively taste of the city’s historic waterfront (don’t forget to sample the pralines). Be sure to stop by beloved local favorites like The Paris Market and Leah Bailey, Hannah E’s, and One Fish Two Fish, then enjoy a memorable meal Common Thread. For a polished stay or cocktail stop, Hotel Bardo is also well worth a visit.
hilton head
Just a short drive away, Hilton Head Island offers laid-back coastal charm and plenty to explore, and it holds a very special place in our hearts. It is where the kids spent their vacations growing up for more than 15 years, making this part of the Lowcountry feel like a second home to our family. Start the day with a casual bite at local favorite Java Burrito, one of Maddi’s personal favorites, then spend the afternoon biking along scenic paths or soaking up the sun at Coligny Beach Park, one of the island’s most popular and accessible beach spots. For waterfront dining and unbeatable views, Skull Creek Boathouse is a must and has been a longtime favorite of ours throughout the many years we have been visiting the Lowcountry. Stroll the iconic lighthouse at Harbour Town, browse the marina at Shelter Cove, or simply settle in and enjoy the relaxed coastal pace that makes Hilton Head such a beloved destination.
